Looks like somebody has one serious hot tent  - who had that?

No fire dancing this time eh?

I see lots of idle men sitting around looking at food and pretending to be lumberjacks

Did anyone venture away from that apple pie long enough to see if there was snow for skiing?  It looks pretty grim.

Glad to see everyone had a good time -

The hot tent belonged to my canoeing/camping buddy Obe. It's a baker / campfire tent. The same one Bill Mason used. Just modified a bit for winter camping. Used it on our trip years ago down the Missinabai River to Moosonee.

No skiing, no real snow. Nothing like last year with tons of snow and -29C temps. No

But there were some of the group that took in the marsh/lake boardwalk and other trails to keep them busy Saturday.

Snow or no snow, we had a great time. Thumbs Up

Besides, winter just got started. Maybe we can do this again later in the season? Wink

Well...Chuck and I are considering Mew Lake in Algonquin for the Family Day weekend Feb. 15th - Friday to Monday.  Anyone else for a weekend of actually being able to go on a snowshoe hike?  I'm wondering if I should reserve my site now? Undecided

That hot tent looked pretty toasty - but with a plug in campfire and nothing to bring except some warm clothes  I could see myself doing a one nighter in Valens in Feb with the doggies...

Thanks for posting the pictures -

Hi, Folks.

I finally settled on a handle; Was gonna use "Wooley Mammoth" as a name (for obvious reasons, those of you that I met at the camp can attest!). Decided I am too lazy to type that all the time, so just wooley it is.

I enjoyed meeting the group and hope to attend other gatherings in the future.

I have some photos to show...I will have to get Lost Canoe to show me how to post them first.

Looking forward to logging in and seeing whats new and exciting in tripping. Not having been on the water for a number of years I am gettin' the urge back.

Thanx again for your welcome...
