For a stove I really like Trangia and so do my fairweather camping buddies.  For years we used MSR whitegas stoves and the fairweathers were often wary of them.  Last year I introduced them to the Trangia and they marveled at how easy and quiet it is.

Trangias do no rely on any mechanical pressurization or any moving pieces.  Fill the cup with fuel & ignite.  I've seen them in use in all seasons by dedicated year-round trippers like MicMac.  Foolproof, bombproof, quiet & efficient.

I don't like cannister stoves, weight, year round effectiveness, noise.  You might be able to squeeze out some winter use of a cannister by warming it with body heat.  Putting it on/near the fire earns a nomination for a Darwin Award.

Do you have to buy these nifty pots too - or can I use my GSI pot set that I bought last year with this Tranga stove:

If you buy the full kit, you're sitting pretty.
I picked up a UL model Trangia and use my MSR pots on it no probs.
Getting the $80 Trangia is high on my list.

A link to the Trangia Non-Stick Cookset from MEC.

At $75.00 it seems like a good buy if you're after one.

I've seen Mike's set-up. Very nice. Thumbs Up
